Christmas Mosaic Classes x3
'PIECE ON EARTH' Christmas Mosaic Workshops will ensure that we are all of good cheer, creating lots of nice shiny things. You'll be a busy little elf mosaicing unique Christmas decorations for your home or garden, or personal gifts for your friends and loved ones. This three week Christmas workshop may fill up quickly! Book your spot now to avoid disappointment.
CHRISTMAS CLASSES NOTES:
DATES: The Christmas Classes run for three mornings in November. 6/11, 13/11, and 27/11
TIMES: 10am to 1pm
FEES: The $98.75 fee covers all three classes, and it includes all course-specific materials, tutoring, tool hire, tea/coffee.
STUDIO CAPACITY: 10 seats available.
LOCATION: We are the driveway situated exactly opposite our creative, metal-sculpting neighbours, Gravelly Beach Metalworks. Follow the mosaic studio signs down our lovely bushland acreage driveway, and park near the garden gate which has the Susie's Studio sign on it !
If there is something special or personal you'd like to integrate into your mosaic, please DO bring it to the workshops! Your own broken crockery, jewellery, beads and more can integrate well into a Christmas mosaic, giving it personal significance and context to the viewer or recipient.
Bring a square ice-cream tub to practise cuts into (and we'll also use this tub for grouting) Please wear full shoes, because we are breaking, cutting and working with sharp things.
Working in a social art studio environment whilst being artistically mentored by local artist Susanna Mills, you'll meet new friends and be inspired by their art, while slipping gently under the soothing spell of this slow and methodical process of ancient, enduring creative expression.
Make up classes are not available for one-off, themed events.

2025 Mosaic Classes for You?
Susie's Studio offers various classes for students of every level. At the beginner’s level, we offer lessons to skill you up and get started with a small mosaic plaque. Intermediate and advanced lessons are available for mosaic artisans wishing to break away from the basics and into more experimental work.
Fall under the soothing spell of making mosaics and be inspired by your classmate's artworks in progress while being artistically mentored by Susanna Mills- a professional, practising visual artist and longtime MAANZ Member. Weekly Mosaic Classes in 2025 are on WEDNESDAY mornings or evenings at Susie's Studio, conveniently situated opposite Gravelly Beach Metalworks and sculpting on Gravelly Beach Road. Limited places per class (10-12 max) are available, so enquire now to secure yourself a spot in Term 1.
Customers are encouraged to commit to as long a period as possible, because creating mosaic artwork is a slow and methodical process, requiring a consistent and focused approach to finish it and thereby learn. For new customers, once you have learnt the basic skills during your first classes, allow yourself time to simply relax and enjoy mastering the process, and be inspired by the creativity and company of fellow enthusiasts !
AD-HOC, casual day attendance is by prior arrangement only due to the limited space available in my studio and costs $50pp/ per class/day materials excl. (6-week course customers, will be given seating priority. ) This is a sensible 'try before you buy' option to see if you like what we do, before you commit to 6 weeks with us in the next six week block of mosaic classes.
Mosaic Materials are not included in the 6 week BYO course.
There is also a bountiful bucket of free, 'orphan tiles' for you to scratch through or contribute to, as you work.
However, it is expected that you will ultimately purchase mosaic materials from the Susie's Studio shop- or BYO
Use of studio tools and adhesives is complimentary. Tea/Coffee/Biscuits complimentary.
